The Company: Our client is one of the nation's leading specialty wholesale distributors to the woodworking industry, offering an extensive inventory of decorative and functional hardware and fittings, tools, shop supplies, surfacing materials, and board and panel products.

The Position: Responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive online marketing strategy for the client website that maximized the growth of online sales and meets the organization's overall business goals. Newly created position with extensive growth opportunities in an operating division of the world's largest industrial distribution company.
  • Increase percentage of sales volume and order volume that occurs over the website.
  • Increase sales lines per web order.
  • Increase the volume of high margin product sale via the website.
  • Increase the number of customers regularly using the website.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase on-line customer base by converting existing customers and attracting new customers through effective SEM?SEO and targeted marketing efforts.
  • Design, develop and implement a process to improve positioning through organic search for the entire product offering.
  • Perform competitive analysis. Analyze and become an expert in market place—understand competitors, price points, new trends and promotional techniques. Develop strategy to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Maintain existing customer relationships. Understand, evaluate and propose modifications to the web environment to improve customer's satisfaction with their on-line experience.
  • Train inside and outside sales forces on how to successfully promote company website usage.
  • Evaluate feasibility of modifying existing site to perform in retail marketplace and lead effort to move to the retail space.

Other Responsibilities (included but will not be limited to):

  • Improve and manage on-line product content. Work closely with other departments in the organization to stay current with product changes, alternative products and possible substitutes.
  • Support new product launches and post-launches activities.
  • Responsible for handling customer's and vendor's inquiries and recommendations as it pertains to the website via direct customer contact or through the outside sales force.
  • Responsible for developing procedures, techniques and tools ensure quality content on the web.
  • Supervising other team members (web assistant) and temporary employees on the project basis.
  • Manage third party vendors and external agencies responsible for content, SEO, affiliate/partner programs.
  • Collaborate with IT department to ensure accuracy of data capture, reporting and overall quality of the website.

Position Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with search engine optimization including: keyword research, selection, search engine submissions and position tracking and traffic analysis. Extensive experience with effective marketing techniques to increase website traffic.
  • Extensive experience using social media, blogging, link exchanges to generate more leads to the website.
  • Minimum 2 years of advanced experience in working with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, etc.
