10/13/08 — In a new position for Dornbracht Americas, James Manu has been appointed as Rocky Mountain Area Representative, responsible for presenting the brand message and products of Dornbracht, Alape and Czech & Speake. He will oversee all Rocky Mountain Area activities including showroom and specification sales, luxury project management and trade association functions.

James comes to Dornbracht with a background in outside sales within the luxury furniture industry, selling to high-end retail showrooms and architects & designers for residential and commercial projects. He graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science.

04/11/08 — Brooke Chase Associates, Inc., announced today the successful recruitment of Peter Schoenhoff as Manufacturing Manager for Franke Consumer Products in Ruston, Louisiana. Franke is a manufacturing and sales company of residential stainless steel and composite sinks as well as other related products such as faucets, accessories, water filtration, exhaust systems, and overall kitchen systems as well as stainless steel beverage containers. The company sells both to the retail and traditional channels of the kitchen & bath markets on a national basis as well as export, and, the Beverage Container Division sells to all the major global brewing groups, regional breweries, craft and micro breweries, and brew pubs throughout North America. The parent company, Franke Holding, located in Aarburg, Switzerland, is the global market share leader in the production and sales of kitchen systems and beverage containers.

In a key role as Manufacturing Manager for Franke's start-up Beverage Container Systems division in the United States, Schoenhoff will be charged with improving output and productivity, and driving continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale through implementation of an established Lean Manufacturing program.

02/20/08 — Optimism prevailed in a recent national survey conducted of senior-level executives in the building materials industry by international executive search firm, Brooke Chase Associates, Inc. Of over a thousand companies surveyed, 54 percent of the respondents indicated that, despite a decrease in revenue in 2007, forecasts are high for 2008.

While results reflected planned decreases in human capital in the areas of operations (63%), administrative (64%) and manufacturing (58%), the majority intend to take advantage of the recent downturn by boosting sales and marketing efforts (73%). "We will increase our sales and marketing...turning 2008 into a growth year," one respondent reported.

Participants emphasized, in today's economy, without the right people in the right positions companies will be ill-equipped to face the challenges of global competition. Businesses cannot afford to make hiring mistakes, and consequently, are more demanding in their hiring practices. One executive declared, "For 2008 [we will be] strategically replacing B and C players with A players." To achieve these goals, one respondent reported, "We have found that successful hiring has come primarily from the use of an experienced executive search firm."
